Re: Upload speed keeps dropping

Next thing to try is a replacement HH5.

Re: Upload speed keeps dropping

I was thinking that, do you think BT would replace mine free of charge?

Re: Upload speed keeps dropping

Contacted BT, no way will they replace the Home Hub 5, they insist that all is well, I will have to buy another Router and try and get them to reimburse me if it cures the problem.

Very disapointed with BT, I thought they would try and help me by sending me another Router to prove if that is the problem!

Re: Upload speed keeps dropping

As I said, according to the line stats, everything is rosy.

Re: Upload speed keeps dropping

Had another conversation with the guy on the Help Desk, he insists my upload speed problem is not the Home Hub 5 and I would be wasting money buying a new one.

The Help Desk say they have tested everything and all is okay, so it must be my equipment that has changed.

Disconnected everthing from the Hub, connected two different PC's in turn with a new 2m Cat5 Cable directly to the hub, the results a almost exactly the sam, 70Mbs Download 6Mbs upload, I also get the same readings with a wifi connection

I have two questions I would like to know please?

Has anybody ever had a faulty HH5 that caused the upload speed to drop?

Is it possible to have great download speed and poor upload speed because of a BT Phone Line wiring problem, I ask because I have thought of asking for an Engineer to visit to test my line?

Re: Upload speed keeps dropping

Yes it does happen. Can you try a factory reset of the Homehub, followed by posting some new stats. Is that possible?

Re: Upload speed keeps dropping

After complaining to BT several times about my upload speed, and BT telling me that all is okay with both their network and my router, I removed everything from the router and connecting a laptop directly with a new cable and got just the same results, max 6MB upload speed.

Spent some time trying to get BT to replace my router, they would not.

Asked if I could buy one at the same price as I bought this one, £45, I could not.

Had several phone calls from BT asking if I was now happy and could they close my complaint, I stated my problem was still ongoing.

Then this morning I tested the speed and found a great improvment:

I will keep testing for the next few days to make sure, but it seems like these types of problems can just go away!

If anything changes I will post it here.
