Re: UserName option absent from settings on Samsung SmartTV set-up

If you are using a Windows 7 or 8 laptop you can download "Virtual Router"  from Codeplex which will turn your laptop into a hotspot that you can connect through. It's a free download and works well. I use it frequently when away from home.

Thank you.  The other thread, they were discussing a different TV brand but same settings issue.

Re: UserName option absent from settings on Samsung SmartTV set-up

There are a number of applications that you can use on a Mac to turn it into a hotspot but I have not used any of them so have no idea if you need to connect by Ethernet to the router or if it can all be done by wireless in the same manner as on a Windows machine.
