VDSL Range B (Impacted)

Its poorly at the moment but even when well my download speed was only ever just above the Range B impacted speed. My house wiring many years ago was simplified and there is only one telephone socket now, wired in by BT. I have no taps (as mentioned in the blurb) as far as I know.

So is there anything i can do to improve things?

Thanks.

Re: VDSL Range B (Impacted)

Can you run this checker and post back a screen shot of the results. Make sure you delete your phone number before posting.

http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome

and use this speed tester then scroll down the page and carry out the further diagnostics and post back a screen shot of all the results including your IP profile for up and down. This test must be done with a wired connection.

If you have a Homehub 5 can you post the stats from 1-12 by logging onto the Homehub management pages then troubleshooting > helpdesk. http://bthomehub.home/

or

If you have the Smart Hub, (Homehub 6) can you go to hub manager then advanced then technical log and post the stats. http://bthomehub.home/

Re: VDSL Range B (Impacted)

As requested.

FYI The hub has been manually restarted because I bought a new cable home from work to try. Other than that it has been left on for 3 or 4 days since the last enforced disconnect - I had to move it while decorating!

Its been in the 20's or lower for days now, 15 Mbps yesterday. The best speed I have ever had is 42Mbps hence my question about why I might be impacted. Its sitting at high 20's at the moment as you can see.

Re: VDSL Range B (Impacted)

Can you re-run the tests and re-post the results with the Homehub connected to the test socket in the master socket.

Re: VDSL Range B (Impacted)

Is that the one I get to by removing the front panel?

Do I need a filter?

My socket looks like this only with MK2 in the top right hand corner.

Re: VDSL Range B (Impacted)

Yeah you'll need to remove the face plate and use a filter.

Was your speedtest done wired or wirelessly?
