Before Christmas we had problems with phone and broadband which was completely dead. Engineer came and replace cable from pole acroos road to the house. ( i think this has been faulty for a while) anyway Ive done a speedtest today and I'm only getting 16.87 Mbps.
I really dont want to phone India again as i was on the phone to them a lot before christmas and cant imagine how much it's put on the bill. Can anyone advise what may be wrong or a way forward. I was told i'd get at least 40 Mbps which I have done in the past but it slowly got worse which I put down to the old wiiring. Now with new cable I thought it should go up but its gone down
Run the speedtest at http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ and after the test choose ‘Further Diagnostics’ and post the speeds and the profiles that this gives. Run the speedtests wired, not wireless.
It could be that because of earlier errors DLM lowered your speed, and it will recover as it discovers that your line is now better. That could take up to a three weeks or so.
over 3 weeks now and though the dowload speed has upped to 26Mbps its still nowhere near what it was this time last year which was around 40 mbps. I'll give it another week then if its not up to what it was I'll get on the phone to them.
