Re: Very slow broadband

Go to solution

Did the quiet line test again and no drop of connection.  Can't say i noticed any correlation between recieving calls and the connection dropping, if there had been it would not be the only reason since i have only had a handful of phone calls over the last 3 days while the connection has dropped dozens of times.  I suspect it was just a co-incidence.

Re: Very slow broadband

if you are using test socket and conenction still dropping often during a day then you need an engineer visit.  if there is no noise on quiet line test then probably a broadband engineer so phone customer services but any line noise phone 151 for phone engineer

Re: Very slow broadband

Typical i didn't check my email again till late since it is such a struggle.  Contacted the mods now, will leave the current stats here for them.  After my last post the connection was actually stable for at least 6 hours, but I see it reset again around midnight.

Re: Very slow broadband

Go to solution

Of course with an engineer due to visit tomorrow morning my Broadband is now suddenly the fastest it has ever been and seems to be stable.  Hopefully the engineer can still get to the bottom of what was going on despite the problem seemingly fixing itself, because it has happened 3 times now, and i have the feeling it will resurface if not identified.  Wish me luck.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.9 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1.2 Mbps-4 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 2.96 Mbps

Fastest i ever had on this line before was 1.6 last time you guys got the IP profile reset for me ...

Re: Very slow broadband

Go to solution

The faster speed is due to the lower normal noise margin of 4.8db as normal is about 6db

Re: Very slow broadband

Go to solution

It seems my issues were a bit of a perfect storm.  It happens our exchange was getting an upgrade which I knew nothing about (there does seem to be a communication issue).  So the phone fault, the upgrading of equipment and potentially the lightning storms we have had for the last week really messed my connection up both with the connection manager and my hub.  Engineer who came out rest both and everything now seems fine and my faster broadband is legit due to the upgrade at the exchange.  So a happy outcome, so long as it stays that way.

Thanks alot for your help.  The new and apparently correct stats below;
