Re: Very slow download speed after 1 month of 8-9mb Download

Thank you both for the help, I
Will post the stats after 3 days, hoping this will get the speed back up. How would I go about changing the socket - Do you mean a new plate for the master socket? Can BT help with this?

Thanks

a new faceplate for the master if needed can be done by you without BT but need to see what connection like now in test socket and after banding released.

did you discover what the 2 wires were for that came from the master?  is that a broken splitter in the socket where you can see the wires?

Re: Very slow download speed after 1 month of 8-9mb Download

How do I tell if a new faceplate is needed?

I will post the stats after 3 days, cheers.

One wire goes upstairs to a phone socket. I was using this phone socket before.

The other goes to an extension cable that can plug into the back of a router I believe?

Thanks

Re: Very slow download speed after 1 month of 8-9mb Download

you will know if the faceplates faulty if the connection speed differs between the test socket and the faceplate you need to tidy up the wiring you may be able to remove the extension cable you mention if it is not in use

Re: Very slow download speed after 1 month of 8-9mb Download

You are still only showing a 23 hour connection time you have to get to 3 days before any thing can be done with the noise margin

Re: Very slow download speed after 1 month of 8-9mb Download

It was left for 3 days - However the cable was tripped on and the router went on and off. This must has reset the timer. I will leave it again for 3 days and post the stats.

Cheers
