WANTED HELP WITH NEW BT CONTRACT PLEASE

can any one help me please

last nov 2010 my bt contact was about to end,

so i made enquiries about having a differnet ISP,

i aslo wanted something like bt vision inc the sports channels SS1 + SS2

this was to include telephone line etc,

of course i was looking for the best price for everything,

after numerous calls to BT for a quote for what i wanted,i got what i thought was a good price for everything from bt,

i also called sky and virgin,

this was :

bt infinity 2

bt vision  +  gold + ss1 ss2

and line rental

i asked bt to confirm details, which they did by email,

this included all the work they were going to do and all the channles etc i was going to have,

bt infinity etc was installed within the next 2 weeks, approx end nov 2010,

every thing was up and running at the price i was quoted,

now last friday 14/01/2011

i got the first bt bill since the new install/contract

it says on the bill that i am to pay more than double the price i was quoted,

also to pay 3 months in advance which i was not told at time of quote,

i have rang different depts since friday to try and see what the **bleep** is going on,

the agents are ok to start with then i get no where when i try to explain the situation,

they start quoting things about bt`s terms and conditions etc,

i then ask to speak to a supervisor, now this is hard as they say there is not one in the building,

this gets the call no where,

so i am asking if someone can help please,

please help as it is madness,

i think i have been misled on the selling of this new contract,

thanks

Terry

Re: WANTED HELP WITH NEW BT CONTRACT PLEASE

It sounds as if you have been misled.  This happened to me too, BT told me I would get about 5 Mbps broadband during peak times when in fact, as I learned later, my phone line can only handle upto 1 Mbps and I and everybody else in the village get around 0.25 Mbps.  I spoke to citizens advice beureau who informed me that as it had been missold, I could leave the contract without haveing to pay a fee.  I suggest you print a copy of the e-mail and take it along with your bill to CAB to find out where you stand.  Let us know how you get on.

Re: WANTED HELP WITH NEW BT CONTRACT PLEASE

Indeed, if you have written confirmation of the price you were happy to pay, then you have every right to expect that price or cancel the contract without penalty.
