paid my bill 2 days ago
get a phone call "This is BT it appears you haven't paid your bill" (the BT message) ... press 1 etc
said "we require your account code" - didn't have it hung up
dialed 100 got through to billing "your bill is paid"
It's not BT it's someone trying it on simply enough by emulating the BT system - they would have taken my card number (for payment) and then cleaned my account out
Lucky I didn't have it to hand - I would have continued ...
Can a moderator please get in touch with me - this happened on my line 20 minutes ago. It will be a mass attempt.
Very simple - a phishing scam (when I say phishing it's where you get a fake web page to extract your credit card details).
But much simpler (by phone)

Thanks for posting this, it certainly doesn't sound like a call from BT.
If you can send us an email using the contact us form in my profile with any information you have regarding this call, the number it came from for example, we would be grateful.
We can feed this back. It is very important to note that if BT where to telephone you in your home especially with an automated system you would not be asked to enter your account number.
