this new usuage monitor, is it simply a downloadable app, or an actual online monitor like they used to have, where you logged in to 'my account info' on the site, instead of now, where they say they will monitor it for you!

 

then they say 'but don't worry, we'll let you know if you've gone over', while technically correct, a warning 2 weeks after the said event is kinda pointless?

 

silly BT, reinventing the wheel, and chasing the next dollar...

Hi Everyone

 

I’d like to clarify a couple of points that have been raised to me via private message.

 

The increase to the heavy user threshold from 100GB to 300GB is already in place now.

 

There is no change to the usage allowance for BT Total Broadband Option 1 customers – this remains as 10GB.  Additional usage for BT Total Broadband Option 1 customers will also be charged at 5GB for £5 (instead of 1GB for £1).  If you find that you are likely to incur additional use charges, it may be worthwhile reviewing which broadband option you are on, details of the different monthly usage allowances can be found here.  Or if you want to upgrade your broadband package you can find more information here

Does this mean if I go over by 1GB I will be charged £5 instead of a £1 as before????

Then I hope BT get their Usage Monitor up and running before my contract ends or I will vote with my feet.

 

 

BT really are the British Gas of the Broadband world when it comes to customer care, very disappointing

Customers have been posting here and other subjects for some time and BT have not been very fast in responding

 

So an upgrade would still come with the same disregard for its customers  Not very tempting I'm afraid

 

Anyway I do not need an upgrade just a Usage Monitor!!!!

Depends on your personal circumstances, I know I'll go over each month,so I asked and got a really good deal.

I use the Hub stats to check my usage and they've been pretty accurate so far.

I used to use the hub but due to constant restarts it has become unreliable for us.

 

Cant wait for the online usage monitor, saying that i wonder how long it will take for people to complain of the meter not working or showing inaccurate info!!!
