Re: WPA2 and WPA On Homehub 2

Hi Keith,

That link mentions problems with encryption too.

What bugs me is that you can't actually tell what's not working properly as neither box has anything much in the way of diagnostics...

I have read that Buffalo range extenders are ok too, but until I find a report that states specifically that the extender works with WPA2 and HH2, I'll stick with trying the TP Link next.

I'll see how I get on next...

Re: WPA2 and WPA On Homehub 2

Well, all I can say about the TP Link, is that I have spent hours doing exhaustive tests, as I have a spare one here.

I cannot find any issues with it, any problems are usually down to people not reading or understanding my installation guide.

I did on one occasion, create a custom config file for a user, so they could download it.

If it is connected to the hub, it shows the following screen.

And you can get traffic stats on this screen

Hi Keith,

See anything here that might need adjusting?

No, but what a very complicated device it is compared to the TP-Link.

Re: WPA2 and WPA On Homehub 2

Hi Keith,

Yes, it seems to allow all sorts of adjustments.

It's definatley set to Universal repeater mode. It has a WDS Bridge mode too, but as you said, HH2 doesn't do WDS.

I don't think I'll ever get to the bottom of it without a wireless protocol analyser to see what the two units are doing...

I'll get a TP Link next week and hopefully that will do the business.

If you have problems with the TP Link config, I have a spare unit here, and can generate a custom file if needed. I have done it before for other people.
