Wanting to switch to BT, how long is the wait to get started?

Hello, 

Currently with Virgin, looking to move to BT with the 500Mb package, as it is cheaper and faster than what I have with Virgin. 

Considering I'll have to phone virgin to cancel, I wanted to know how long the wait was from the day I order to actually having BT internet in my flat. 

I am in Edinburgh if that matters.

Nobody can predict how long it will take, it will depend on many factors all of which will be unique to your situation.
