It just stays in place, possibly connected to a "stopped" number.
Are you referring to a move to a cable provider?
Yes gone to Virgin Media, it still has dial tone and now a different number which fits what you say.
Not really wanting to test it as not want to end up with charges but of course I used it to Line Test and it gave the number to me.
Do you think it closed to proper calls in or out?
It will not accept incoming calls, and the only outgoing calls it would allow, would be to 150, so people can re-activate the line if needed. Its called "Soft Dial Tone"
The line will remain in that state unless there is a shortage of cable pairs, and the route needs to be used for another customer.
That is good info. thanks.
So 150 and 17070 out.
Do not think there will be a shortage of OR lines as now with me ceasing well over half of the 11 houses on my pole are on Virgin Media.
So if this house were put up for sale will be good for next owner to know they have a choice.
