no it should be able to support up to 79 Mbps depending on your lines condition and the package you are on

All depends. Your distance from the PCP, type of cable and cable guage, type of DSLAM, your internal wiring/setup, how many other subscribers are on the same DSLAM, what Modem/Router you use.

It should be somewhere between 59 and 79mbps though, in an ideal world.

Thanks guys, just don't know why my router says 55mb down, but 18mb up. i thought 18mb up would be infinity 2 ?

You may be on a banded profile, due to instability?
