Hi, I've just started using Google Wifi because my BT HH5 didn't provide enough coverage. I've hooked the Google Wifi router it up to an EchoLife HG612 and it all seems to be working fine so far.
The only doubt I have is that during the Google Wifi install, the Google App asked me for a Username and Password, I assume for the BT Infinity service?
Anyway, I tried Username=bthomehub@btbroadband.com, Password=BT, and this seemed to work.
Is this the correct Username and Password? Does it actually need a password at all?
Thanks all.

Great, thanks so much.
I was a little surprised that the Google Wifi would need this information - I assumed it would be handled by the BT Openreach modem itself.
No, the Openreach modem only deals with the DSL layer not the PPP layer.
Yeah, seems that way.
But I've looked at the Huawei HG612 User Guide, and under the chaper on 'Configuring the WAN' two of the parameters described are as follows ...
Username | It specifies the PPP dial-up user name used for user identity authentication |
Password | It specifies the PPP dial-up password used for user identity authentication. |
Mine isn't an unlocked modem, so I don't have access to these parameters, but still, I assumed BT would have hard-coded them to the correct settings.
The modem can be used in 2 modes, as a pure modem or as a router. When in modem mode, as the locked one will be, the PPP session is handled by the router.
I see. Thank you again !!
