I have been trying to set up a new mail rule but when trying to add the new rule get the message.. "unable to connect to server or it is slow to respond". I tried last night and again tonight but without success. Last night I waited in a phone queue for almost 30 minutes and eventually spoke to an operative who did not have a clue what I was talking about.
Before the recent email upgrade I had been able to set up rules without a problem.
Has anyone else had this problem when setting up a new rule? Did you manage to work out how to sort it out?
Thanks

Are you on the BTYahoo or BTMail email system.
If you are not sure log onto your email account and look at the BT logo. If you see Yahoo you are on the BTYahoo system
A basic one to check is if you are setting up a rule in webmail, make sure that you give the rule a unique name.
Are you trying to set a rule to forward emails to another email account or is it some other rule?
Not much help to you but I have just set up a rule based on contents of the title the sender and the contents of the body of the email and to move it to thr trash folder and it worked exactly as it should so it would not appear to be a generic problem with the rule facility on BTMail.
Can you try and set up the rule with just one rule, ie just the sender or the content of the title and see what happens.
I have another email account with BT and tried setting up a new email rule within that profile. This was successful!!
Is there a limit to how many rules you can set up? Unfortunately I cannot set up new rules, edit or delete existing ones.
I am guessing that something is corrupt within my email account but what this might be??? How do I get BT to investigate this?
I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem. Once they have read this they may be able to help. They are very busy at present so it can take up to 24 hours for them to contact you. They will do this by posting on this thread.
Hi @SBR01,
Thanks for your posts and welcome back. I'm sorry you are having problems creating rules on your email account.
I'm not sure what the problem is off the top of my head giving the fact that rules work on your other mailbox. We will look into this for you.
I have sent you a private message with instructions on how you can send us over your details and we'll look into this for you. See: Private messages
Thanks
