Where's that cursor?

It seems that in the rich text part of the compose window, the cursor may be invisible. I got it back by clicking on the html tab and then clicking back on rich text. And it has stayed since.

Can someone check this out please. Typing without a cursor is a bit weird.

Re: Where's that cursor?

Exactly the same problem here, though I think its only happened when I've edited a post.  Cursor blinking happily as I write now.

Like you, using FF 3.6

Re: Where's that cursor?

I'm using FF 3.5.7 and I've not noticed any problems with the cursor when posting or editing.

Using XP (up to date).

Maybe its a glitch on 3.6?

I'm telling porkies....Just clicked edit post and curosr jumped over to Message Tags (weird).

But at least its there,no its not,yes it is,no,yes,no,yes Smiley Very Happy

Re: Where's that cursor?

I have now upgraded to 3.6.

No probs with posting.

BUT it still jumps to the Message Tags when editing!!

Check if the cursor appears in the message tags.

Re: Where's that cursor?

Well maybe one of you that has no problem, has actually pinched MY cursor?

It seems to be very erratic. Odd things happen while the formatting bar is loading and depending where the cursor is at that point - it may or may not appear in the message compose box.

Perhaps this could be a running topic - the mystery of the missing cursor - where IS the cursor - cursor last spotted in... - "You are the cursor - I claim my £5" etc.

This afternoon, the cursor is where it belongs. Hello cursor, nice little cursor, Don't go away. Please.

Re: Where's that cursor?

Hmm. I think Dorset_Vinney has got my cursor now! Perhaps there just aren't enough to go round and it's a bit like contention ratio - 50:1 cursor sharing!

Seriously though, it is a little frustrating.  Even more so because I can't seem to recreate the problem, it just sort of happens.

Re: Where's that cursor?

I have noticed the same problem happens sometimes with me as well but it does not bother me that much. Would be nice if it was always there though.

Re: Where's that cursor?

Eureka

I can now recreate the problem!  The cursor only vanishes after my log-on to the forum has timed out and I relog when answering a question!

It only seems to be a problem for the first question I answer following the relog and seems OK on subsequent questions.

I bet DS has lost his cursor now!

Re: Where's that cursor?

Nope.

Still got it Smiley Very Happy

BUT (there's always one) it still jumps into the same place as before!

It must be that when editing the original text it gets frightened!

Now now little cursor be brave.
