Which Router?

Hi

I've got an installation date for early next month for Superfast Fibre 2. Which one of the routers will I get, I was under the impression it would be the Smart Hub 2 but reading between the lines it looks like it could be just the Smart Hub?

Re: Which Router?

Hi @SolarCycles

Did you take out Halo 2 and/or a Complete Wi-Fi Package?

Both are very similar, and the only real benefit to the SH2 is that you can use it with the disks, if you have them.

Thanks

Re: Which Router?

No, just the regular Superfast fibre 2 option.

I just assumed all fibre packages came with the Hub 2, that’ll teach me to read the small print. 😎

Re: Which Router?

Just buy the correct  Smart Hub 2 off  ebay. If you have a problem then you will have spare one to test with. Remember though your BT one supplied is now only on loan apparently. With The Smart Hub 2 you are presently unable to split the 2,5Ghz and 5ghz.

Why on earth would you want to buy a Smart Hub2?

Why would anyone buy any ISP router?

Re: Which Router?

Each to their own. If they work better than the supplied one, Why not ? I know plusnet customers prefer the  bt routers over their supplied ones.

Re: Which Router?

If I was going to buy a router I'd buy a decent one.

But the OP is going to be supplied with a Smart Hub 1, the SH2 is absolutely no improvement.

Why would you buy a router that is locked to one ISP (2 if they do work on Plusnet, not sure about that)?

Re: Which Router?

As it is known Apple devices don't like  5 and 2.5 bands having the same name how is an SH2 better?
