speed tests are affected by general internet traffic therefore errors can occur

so you are telling me that all these speedtests that I have done are incorrect, the time it took the 1gb file was also incorrect?

It can only be explained by knowing what your sync speed is. But that info is locked in the modem, so you have to guess what it is. The best guess is to get your IP profile and multiply it by 1.033.

so that would be 77.43 x 1.033, which is 79.98519?

Yeah, but that's only a guess. In order to actually see your sync speed, you need to see it in your modem stats which are locked.

£212 I must be out of my mind to spend that much money on a router and even if I was, I wouldn't buy this ugly looking router. I would buy tplink's router or e.t.c

I should just hack the modem, I am leaving bt anyway, so, I will get a new one when I get a new contract with sky.

Re: Who can explain this? No Solution required!

hi riffatiqbal,

I just left sky fibre after a 12 month term with them.

They actually were excellent when I started with them, but slowly got worse over time.

Also, something you should be aware of, once you join with them, you have to use their router, because if you buy your own, they won't give you the necessary details to login to your internet.

And the router they send you is limited.

So be very careful about burning your bridges..

I see, thank you for that information, I am going to consider that and do a little more research onto that before I buy another contract.
