Here is some information about BT's Whole Home Wifi

Changes since v1.0.2.11 build02 (FR11):
Standard upgrade advice:
If the new firmware is not working as you’d like, try powering off/on all the discs at the socket and allow them to reconnect and settle. If you still need help afterwards, come back to us, here on Community, or contact the helpdesk on 0808 100 6116 or email btconnectedhome@bt.com so that we understand your issue and help fix it.
Thanks
Paddy
2 days 9 hrs in the Download Speed is low. Was achieving 130 on the last version over the wi-fi. Contract 250 OK wired. Laptop connected on 5ghz through second disk in study. Will keep an eye on it. Which broadband test above.
Has improved now so perhaps just a question of time.
Hi,
Has anyone who previously had issues with the app not recognising their setup installed the new firmware?
Dan-O
We have updated to the Early Adopter 1.02.12 build, but now the iOS app is saying that we are not connected to our Whole Home Wi-Fi.
Generally, we find BT Whole Home so unreliable but have an engineer coming tomorrow so hopefully that may assist.
In the meantime, any ideas on why the app will not recognise that I am connected?
Hi RichardOsborn,
If the engineer confirms that there is not an issue with your router or broadband then please try the following if you are still seeing the issue:-
If you still have the issue after these steps please let us know (once you've given the system some time to settle down again).
Hi,
I have installed the early release firmware as suggested by support and have had no issues. However I am disappointed that it has not improved it's ability to allocate a device to a disk.
I have an XBOX 1 meter away from the disk and it still thinks that a disk upstairs is a better option.
When will a release include an option to allocate a device by MAC to a dedicated disk? Without this option I feel the BT whole home WIFI cannot be recommended.
Regards Mark
It's difficult to force a device to a specific disc without side effects like some devices completely failing to connect but it is something we are looking at for the future.
Some devices stick to the disc they first ever connected to, even if WHW tries to steer it elsewhere so my advice is to "forget" the network on your xbox and set up the connection again with the disc switched on next to it, to make sure it first sets up to the close disc.

Hi Dan
Thanks for the reply. I have tried lots of suggestions from support including yours with varied success. I think your suggestion works for devices left on like our Virgin media box however the XBOX is switched off regularly so it's hit and miss what it does.
You know your devices better than I, so I accept it could be problematic to assign a MAC to a device. How about a additional SID per disk a bit like the guest network. So roaming devices use SID "All home" and my XBOX uses SID "disk 3". Just a thought 🙂
I don't want to hijack this thread as I have a separate support call already open.
The early release of firmware which if others users are reading seems to work ok for me.
