Wholehome Premium Wifi issues connecting to Netflix

Go to solution

I've just installed Wholehome Premium Wifi (3 discs) and updated to the latest firmware (20/4/20) SGAB203010

The whole network is working well, except for accessing Netflix.

I have two smart TV's & when connecting on Netflix the thumbnail images do not load, so I cannot view the menus. I can download and watch programmes & movies, but the lack of thumbnail images makes it almost impossible to navigate.

I ran the network test in Netflix and get the following errors:

Netflix Server 1 (error) nw-2-5

Netflix Servers 2 & 3 (ok)

Internet Connection (error) nw-2-5-0, nw-2-5-1

Connection speed 19.77Mbps

"your device may not be connected to the internet. Please make sure your connection is working".

I get the same errors on my Amazon Firestick, but the Firestick does actually display the thumbnails, so I have no problem using it.

If I disconnect my smart TVs from the Wholehome Premium Wifi and reconnect them to my router's built in wifi (BT Smarthub v6), then the errors disappear and thumbnails work fine.

Unfortunately, it's not convenient to connect the TVs to my router's wifi (that's why I bought Wholehome Premium).

I wonder if this has anything to do with Wholehome Premium Wifi taking over my router's DHCP config???

Please help.

A few hours after posting this, everything is now working ok. I had turned off the discs to move them around a bit & slightly reconfigured the network. All the errors have gone and Netflix is working fine.
I may have plugged the master disc into a different port on my BT Smarthub router (#1 instead of #4). But can't think that anything else has changed.
Anyway I'm very happy with my the whole network now 🙂

Hi Tony0.

Glad to hear you appear to have resolved your issue yourself - moving the discs can often resolve issues such as this, particularly if the original positioning of the discs had not being showing as Excellent during set-up.

However, feel free to let us know if you should experience any further issues.
