Can we get an update please? Still on the Feb patch and the main reason for getting this phone was for fast security updates.
Can we get an update please?
As mentioned in the thread, @SeanD is looking further into the issue. Once he hears something he will post it on the threads.
Asd you will have seen from your post on the other thread about the same issue, @SeanD is looking into the matter. He has spoken with the product team once, but if he is able to find anything further he will post it on the thread.
Hi everyone,
Sorry I don't have an update for you as of yet
We are still pretty sure that the delay you are experiencing in receiving the most recent Android patch is not related to anything that BT have or are doing. However I am seeking an explanation as to why it only seems to be customers using BT/EE network whom are effected. I have a request in with our technology team to contact Nokia to see if we can get an answer.
I don't have a timescale on when I will receive confirmation but the second I know more I will post back here to let everyone know what the situation is. Sorry I cant offer any concrete info at the moment.
Cheers
Sean
Many thanks Sean for keeping your word and actually getting back to us (albeit with no new info).
I find it one of the most frustrating things when someone promises to do something, and then doesn't follow through - so kudos for replying!
Is it possible (whilst you're waiting to hear back from Nokia) you can check which updates are waiting in relation to the Nokia 6.1 (TA-1050)? In other words can you 'see' if there are updates in the pipeline (but just don't know why they are not coming down)?
I know there are updates, but just wondering from BT's perspective (currently the phone is on Android 8.0.0 / security patch 1st February 2018).
Is there no way you can get hold of a Nokia 6.1 and test yourself?
Thanks!
Just a quick update...
Discovered someone else posting about the same problem in relation to no Nokia updates coming through (Nokia 7 Plus).
He is with Virgin Mobile... and guess what... Virgin Mobile is an MVNO that piggy backs on the EE (BT owned) network!
Too much of a coincidence... this has to be BT related - 3 different carriers - same problem - all 3 on BT owned network.
Thanks Sean, really appreciate the effort in understand what's going on here.
This is why (and I appreciate you're trying to find out Sean) I can't see the issue being anything other than BTs.
With this amount of evidence even the most sceptical of sceptics would have a hard time defending BT.
