Why do I need to renew broadband for 24 months to switch to NOW TV?

I've had an email and letter recently to say some of my channels are going disappointing but ok yet reading the small print I have to renew my BB for another 24 months erm why? I really don't want to do that as my contract run until next year as it is and I intend to leave BT having had issues since getting Halo 2 package and now I lose a bunch of channels not really good enough.

I'll switch tv packages but why does the broadband come into it? The letter also says I can call I don't want to spend nearly an hour on the phone like I did last time and cancelling would cost a fortune...

BT TV is only available to BT broadband customers, as it's a requirement it also gets renewed for the same duration as the BT TV minimum term.
It does also renew the broadband at the same price you pay now, so the discounts are alligned and in sync, the new BT TV packages also allow you to change the content once per month, doing so won't change the minimum term like lagacy BT TV packages.

Have these "issues" been sorted? There is nothing in Halo that affects your connection, rather Halo provides you with certain benefits.

If the "issues" remain, can the forum volunteers provide you with some help?

The issues have been sorted but I had to spend the best part of an hour on the phone to attempt to fix them as the forums I'm afraid were useless in that regard. The tech team of whoever dealt with it took another week to resolve my missing channels. I still don't understand what the benefits are...

I would cancel BT completely if it wouldn't cost me a fortune to do so costs continually go up and now I'm losing a bunch of channels I do actually watch it's disappointing. My issue is being tied into a 24-month contract I really don't want that is there no other option than that?
