Why is BT changing my calling plan after I have cancelled my mobile account?

I highly doubt I will get an answer here, but with MyBT broke and the phone lines tied up it seems my only chance to interact with an actual human being!

I cancelled my BT Mobile contract back in May, but just received a letter telling me they're moving me to a new calling plan. Why? Please don't. I don't have a mobile account with you any more and have no desire to give you more money.

Do you have a BT landline ( pay BT line rental ) ?

AFAIK, new landline calling plans are changing , the old ones disappearing, to be replaced by new, and communications being sent out regarding that, it seems people are being advised on what the comparable new plan is, and being told that they will be moved onto the ‘new’ plan, but they have the option of not taking the plan offered, but some sort of plan is needed, even if it’s a PAYG plan ( so no monthly fee , individual calls are billed ) , perhaps it’s that.
