Hi, we have fibre to the house and have recently 'upgraded' to smart hub 2 (ha!)
So far, we are seeing no advantages to it at all, in fact we are seeing many disadvantages.
We always get very good up and down speeds when we check, but the actual user experience is worse than it was before.
For example, the signal in our daughter's bedroom is worse than it was before, but should still be 'enough' for her to work with, but her devices (iphone/ipad/laptop) won't connect and she needs to use her 4G phone hotspot.
I'm pretty hacked off I'm paying more for this worse service, and BT's only answer seems to be that I need to upgrade to the 'complete' package with the discs.
I'm already paying +£50 a month, I'm really annoyed they want more off me!!
Apart from restarting the hub, which I've tried, is there anything else we can do??
have you turned of smart setup
Have you tried changing the wireless channel from automatic to a manually selected channel? I would use a wifi analyser app free which will show networks near you and channels in use then select a free or less congested channel
Hi, so download a wifi analyser app on my phone first.
See what channels are the least congested and find the matching channel on our hub?
Is this as easy as it sounds?
Will this mean having to reset all devices connected to the wifi (TV etc.)
it is as easy as it sounds and changing channel will not cause problems with your devices
just hub manager, then advanced settings then wireless and then change channel to one you select - remember to save then exit
Assuming you were previously using a BT Hub 5 or above you can always go back to using it if it wasn't faulty and you still have it.
Newer doesn't always mean better.

I don't want to go back to the old hub, as that would mean I'm paying more per month for nothing.
It is of course up to you but from what you have said it is not performing as well as the old one so you are already paying more for nothing..
Set up the 2 x discs that BT gave us FOC, now have excellent signal in every room.
Time will tell if this improves performance.
I did download several WiFi analyser apps on my iPhone, but they were way too technical for me and I couldn’t see anything about changing channels.
