Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

SO it just happened again.

When my laptop could not connect I tried my phone and made sure the data connection was truned off and it worked fine.

Then I had to disconnect from the WiFi icon to get my Laptop back online.

Please does anyone know what the problem is, its so annoying.

Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

If your phone is staying connected to the Homehub it would appear that the problem is with the laptop.

If you click on the wifi icon and then go to "Open Network & Sharing" then "Change adaptor settings" then click on your "wireless connection" and then click on "Properties".

This should bring up a new window. Click on "Configure" then "Power Management". If the box " Allow computer to turn off etc" is ticked, untick it. Click OK.

Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

Are you able to take it to a friend/relatives house and connect to their router? That will at least rule out or in the problem being either your laptop or the Homehub.

Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

I have just done a factory reset of my new Laptop, so far so good.

Could be something I installed on it that caused it.

Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

It could have been the Network Card driver that was causing the problem and factory resetting the laptop will have restored it. What operating system does the laptop have? Has it been updated to Windows 10?

What did you install that makes you think it caused your problem. Hopefully it wasn't BTDesktop Help.

Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

It is a brand new HP ultrabook which came with Windows 10, since resetting its been fine for the past few hours so could have solved it.

I rekon it could have been some SEO software that caused it but not really sure.

Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

It just did it again, the fan seemed to be working hard and it felt hot near the cpu so I think it might have been overheating as I had it on my bed.

Re: WiFi Keeps Stopping Working

Probably blocking the vents for air circulation sitting on your bed in soft covers
