My BT WiFi fon is using up my monthly allowance. I know this has happened before to customers and has been mentioned on here. My average usage is 6 gigabyte and today it is 23 gigabytes. HELP.
Welcome to this customer to customer forum. @figi
How do you know that it is BT Wifi, and not something on your own network?
BT Wifi takes a totally different route over the network, starting at your home hub, so usage would not be counted.
It's happened to members of this group as well. I've always used BT WiFi fon on my tablet and rarely go on my wired PC and its never shown this amount of gigs. I have a limit of 12 and its now 23. That's exactly the gigs that's in my usage monitor on my tablet.
Are you sure that your tablet is not connecting to your own home hubs wireless? If you are using the app, it will give priority to your own home hubs wireless connection and not BT Wifi.
If you are using BT Wifi, you would be automatically disconnected after two hours, and would have to login to the app again. If that is not happening, they you are connected to your own home hub wifi, which would count against your allowance.

This the link to what has happened before on here back in 2014
That was some time ago now, and the issue was resolved.
The problem must've returned. I can't think of anything else it could be.
Make sure that your home hub wireless SSID is not saved as a connection on your tablets wireless settings, otherwise it will default to that connection if it cannot connect to BT Wifi.
On your tablet, what do you get if you click on this link hubtest
Also, depending on which tablet you are using, it should be possible to see what IP address has been assigned to your connection, can you check this please.
Also, can you see your tablet connection showing up on the home hub manager?
Hubtest _--- I have an info website
Android/tablet can't automatically sign into hub because it needs me to put in my password. Its always on BT WiFi fon.
Not sure how to get to hub manager. I'm using my android/tablet at the moment.
If you were connected to the home hub, then that hubtest link would have displayed the home hub manager.
There is nothing more I can suggest.
I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.
