You should care about VoLTE as this gives you access to the 800MHz frequency where it has been rolled out. This gives extended but slower 4G coverage.

I totally get the need for wi-fi calling having lived with one bar in my garden and zero in my house.  

But just so not to get everyone  over excited, when the service launches it will be dependent on what handsets are supported! With iPhone its notmally iPhone 5S and above for wi-fi calling and 6 for 4G calling runnign the latest iOS

And providing your handset can do both, Wi-fi calling and 4G Calling will work together anyway

The terms for use of service and requirements are still seemingly top secret until the product launch.

You can no doubt find most of the answer in the EE forums although take into consideration BT have not confirmed what handsets will be able to use the service.

I don’t normally have an issue with the notch on the X but it hides the Wi-fi calling bit unless your in the lock screen. And I’d be happier if the X showed when your connected to VoLTE like on android but hey can’t have it all. 😋

Oh and I’m jealous of Jonny64 4G signal lol

If you have NO signal Dean007 why give a hoot about VoLTE, I am aware of rhe banding etc and what is where in the spectrum. I need to be able to make/receive calls first, which at the moment I cannot as I have no 800/900/1800/2100 COVERAGE.

Trust me, I get the no signal issue! Especially having shelled out for an iPhone X that worked perfectly in my old house but not my new one.

Clearly today you can see that on iPhones Wi-fi calling is rolling out to iPhone users on beta 3 or above on 11.3. Which indicates to an 11.3 update releasing the service.

But as well as gaining from Wi-fi calling, ironically I can now get a signal in the house which will be an added bonus on top of the Wi-fi calling.

What handset do you use shotgunJohn? And did you get it from BT or sim free handset because again the spectrum is irrelevant if your handset is not supported by BT

Got all the options on my phone but my account is telling me no, and it is showing an old phone on the account web page and I can’t get it to update to my current phone. Support are very unsupportive!
