I just enabled the EE APN on my Galaxy S9 and Wi-Fi calling works. No VoLTE though.
Mines the unbranded UK XEU version.
It does. In both the top left on my lock screen and on the speedtest.net app.
EDIT:
No it doesn't in speedtest it shows BT and on my lock screen it shows EE
But whilst testing did it say LTE...
The iPhone doesnt show VoLTE either, if it says 4G then its 4G calling /VoLTE.
If when making a call it drops back to the 3G then its not right! It should stay at 4G..
As discussed on various post, I think the firmware has an effect on what parts if any of the Wi-Fi & 4G calling services you can get based on how its sends the calls/data via BT/EE's system.
Clearly it is not formally launched so its still in a trial phase.. You have Wi-fi calling working so the sim has migrated for the services the OTA / IMS updates must have been done
So far it seem that those with phones supplied by BT/EE have reported it working perfectly those who have sim free or unlocked, it varies on the variant of firmware. From chaging the APN, or changing the firmware to EVR variant seems to get some or all of the services working. BT have yet to announce the launch of the service and what handsets are supported until they do its a little bit of see what works it seems...
Hi, I'm offshore now so can't get any mobile network signal. Looks like I'm stuck until I get back onshore. What a pain. Thought maybe it would update over wifi but I guess not.
Cheers for the info though. I'll give it a go once I get a signal.
Thought that might be the case. VoLTE would be nice but i'm not changing to branded firmwire for it! See what the future holds.
Thanks!
