Is it possible to set up my nowtv box wirelessly rather than having cables hanging out of my TV. I've just bought a smart TV that has WiFi. Any help greatly appreciated.
If it's a smart TV, there's a good chance it comes with the Now TV and BT TV apps (for the AMC channel) loaded so you won't need a box at all. (unless it's a Sony)
If you are talking about bt tv box being Ethernet only you could get Ethernet over power line. I think BT will do subsidised plugs - I use them in my house to get the Ethernet from the ground floor to the third floor and I find them great.
Well worth consideration and now tv works no problem for me.
Thanks!
Sorry it's a YouView box
If you want to be wire free, and your TV is a Samsung, then my earlier comment still applies. The BT channels (AMC and BT Sport) are available on the BT TV app and The NowTV channels are available on the NowTV app. You won't have a recording facility though.
For some strange reason which only Sony can explain (but haven't), neither app is available for their (not so) smart TVs'. Disappointingly the same is true of Sony Android TV's
Look into the power line adapters more - you must have some form of electricity going to the box so if there is a plug behind it you might be able to fit this Ethernet directly to the box.
That's true but the OP said he wanted to be wireless free and if you use an external box then you still need the HDMI cable
I have a Toshiba smart TV with WiFi and it doesn't seem to want to allow me to download the BT sport app onto it. Does that seem correct? Or am I doing something wrong?
I don't know. The best thing to do is either google the model number or post it, and the age of the TV, on here.
Alternatively, YouTube is usually a good source of information. It may be possible to side load it but this doesn't always work
