You're a better man than I

You're a better man than I Gunga Din was a line in a 1980 poem by Rudjard Kipling, later made into a 1939 B&W film starring Cary Grant.

The reason I mention this is because there are better men, and women of course, on this forum who can lose me in technology and internet savvy.

Can anyone tell me how to record more than two programmes on Freeview and Sky on any given day ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: You're a better man than I

The youview box can only record 1 programme while watching another or record two programs while watching something thats been recorded or an on demand programme.

Re: You're a better man than I

I’m sure someone will come on and explain how but there are circumstances where you can record two channels on youview and watch one at the same time, we’ve accidentally done it in the past.

You can also record two channels on the YouView box and watch another on a digital tv.

Re: You're a better man than I

I believe it is possible to record two channels on the youview box while watching another too.

But you can only record two BT TV Channels at once and not able to watch another BTTV Channel.

So you could record two BTTV Channels while watching a Freeview channel.

Or record two Freeview channels while watching another Freeview channel or BTTV Channel.

Or record one BTTV Channel and freeview channel while watching another Freeview or BTTV Channel

Re: You're a better man than I

Forgive me for being a numpty, It would seem that I have as usual not explained myself properly.

As you know or do not know the best programmes are scheduled around the 2100 hours mark.

The thing is dear Community I want to sometimes record more than two programmes at a given time, usually around 2100 hours

From your replies as yet I am not feeling too optimistic.

Wether it is on Freeview, Sky, or BT TV is of no importance.

Thank you for your patience. I am afraid you will need it dealing with me.

Re: You're a better man than I

If are willing to pay for Sky and get a Sky Q 2TB box you ca record six programmes and watch one at the same time if I’ve read their publicity right. Or are you asking what’s the best you can do with a BT Youview box? If you are your, only reliable option is to record two programmes and watch a recording at the same time. As earlier posts say on some occasions it’s possible to record three programmes at the same time, but not reliably.

Re: You're a better man than I

Hi, that sounds good.

Question : I already have Sky . I got this from BT but I think you are talking about something different.

Would I have to purchase the Sky Q 2TB box and would this work together with BT?

Re: You're a better man than I

If you already have Sky and BT you should be in a position to record four programmes now, two on Sky and two on BT.

Sky Q will be another box and new contract I think but don’t know as we don’t have Sky.

Another thing we have is a Humax Freeview box that my wife uses to record things she likes to watch.
