My husband works for Openreach so we have broadband and BT Youview under the BT employee scheme. Our Youview Humax STB is playing up, it keeps turning itself off so is completely unusable, it powers off and needs re setting it is also causing interference with our built in free view on our TV.
The remote chooses when it wants to work or not. We have had the set top box for a number of years and due to the ongoing issues we have had to completely disconnect it from the tv.
Are BT likely to replace like for like under contract or am I expected to buy a new STB.
My previous experience of being in the employee scheme over the past 23 years is it has been difficult to speak with the correct department regarding issues.
Hi @Videtta5 welcome to the community and thanks for posting, I'm sorry to see you're having issues with the BT TV box, have you tried a factory reset on the box?
If you're under contract then there should be no issue getting a replacement whether or not you're a "normal" customer or otherwise.
Just try calling 0800 800 150
I did a full reset and it was fine for about an hour, then it turned off and no response when trying to turn back on.
