YouView Connection via Switch?

I am thinking of getting YouView but I would want to connect my new youview box to my gigabit switch which is in turn connected to my HH4 gigabit port. Will this work?

Re: YouView Connection via Switch?

Thanks. Good to know. Do you get the extra 18 channels with Infinity as well and the sport do they work too?

Re: YouView Connection via Switch?

Don't know about the extra channels as BT havent managed to get mine working yet. The multicast sports channels are working fine for me through a gigabit switch though.

Re: YouView Connection via Switch?

Great thanks. What switch do you use? How come BT haven't got your extra channels working yet?

Re: YouView Connection via Switch?

I use a Netgear JGS524E. As for the extra channels - that's a very long story

Re: YouView Connection via Switch?

Oh dear... Lets hope I don't have the same issue then! Box due on Tuesday. I ordered this morning based on this thread and much other research suggesting it will all work with the set up I have.

Re: YouView Connection via Switch?

I have not heard of any problems using a cat 5 cable & a switch, I use a cheapo TP- Link 10/100 kbs switch connected to a HH3 and have driven 2 HD iplayer channels(1 Youview & 1 on my Panny bluray) simultaneously, with no problems.Smiley Happy
