It's great that you can hide the channels in the guide, but when watching a channel if I channel hop using the P+ and P- buttons it still finds the hidden channels.

This is a welcome update, but it is taking way too long to get back things we had before.

Still no ability to over-run recordings at each end... keep missing start of some of Private Eyes on AlibiHD and missing the end of some CSI NY

I doubt there ever will be, the whole recording system is designed around the EPG information and triggers according to that information.. Has always been an issue, the answer to which really lies with the broadcasters failing to run to billed time. Some, with reactive EPG (BBC, for example) will update as and when this happens, others just don't bother.

Hmmm, $ky have no problem implementing it on their boxes. Seems simple enough bit of code to include to me.

I agree for a few times the last min or so of a show on CBS Action as well as Alibi have been cut off. Last week was the first time Universal Channel cut off the last 30 or 40 seconds of Private Eyes.
The broadcasters as well as Youview need to get this sorted. I would also like to in time see the mini guide show the HD version off a channel instead of the SD version when available.

Not really, two very different systems. A YouView box checks the "over the air" EPG information and recordings are triggered by the start and end times. If, for example you changed channel to an "out of area" mux and a programme you have booked to record isn't being shown or is on later, although already booked, the box won't record it at the time you booked it, because the info is not in the "over the air" Guide anymore - it'll go by the "out of area" guide.

And how difficult a piece of code would it be to read that information and increase the start and end times by x-minutes/seconds?
