Youview App

I have been happily using my Humax box for my BT TV and the Youview app. 

I see that the app is discontinuing the app which means I won’t be able to remote record anymore. I am a BT broadband customer and have a customer ID but don’t pay for their TV and effectively use the box just for Freeview and recording.

My question is, is there a similar \ replacement app that will allow me to remote record from now on?

Have googled around the subject but to no avail.

Thanks in anticipation for any thoughts or solutions.

I just googled "youview app" and it was the top result

BT are be opening up the remote record functionality within the BT TV app for all* YouView users by the end of March. This means that users will be able to book recordings remotely to their YouView box using the BT TV app even if they do not have a BT TV subscription.

Hi @dcholme 

You mention that you have a BT Tv Youview box but no BT TV subscription.

If have been using the Youview app with  a BT  Youview T1000 series box then there is no alternative .

If it is a BT T2100 series or a BT T4000 model then if you use the BT TV app you should be able to pair your phone/tablet  and set recordings  uo remotely. You should check you have the latest version of the BT T V app from the Play Store or Ios App Store.

Although you have a BT ID you should access the BT TV  App  without logging in as you do not have a tv subscription.

Good morning both and many thanks for the replies. You are quite correct that it the a number one result in Google– not sure when that happened as I’m sure it wasn’t there the other day. Probably me 😉

All sorted by using the BT TV app and currently deleting the Youview one!

Yes @AdamH11 you can use the BT TV app without subscription for setting remote recordings, as long your box isn't a 1st generation one (DTR-T1000).
