I would, but she is looking into loss of HD channels specifically, I believe. As I said earlier, my problem is the Non- HD channels, but is basically the same problem, just different channels.
How is the new box working? Even though they want me to return my present box, I will hang onto it until I have watched all the recordings that I have on it.
It's a pity that there isn't a way to transfer recordings from one box to another!
I said on the 15th that I had noted all my channels and would note which channels actually went - and it looks like a load of them have gone between me checking yesterday afternoon and checking a few minutes ago (132 down to just 44 + the subscription channels which don't seem to vary in number). It normally drops to around 70 - so this is much worse than I have seen before.
Channels on BBC A are UNAFFECTED - and this includes channels 001-010. BBC A is also the radio channels 700-710 and they are OK.
Channels on D3&4 are UNAFFECTED - and this is the likes of ITV3, E4, Film 4, ITVBe, ITV+1.
As previously mentioned, I am currently unable to receive any of the channels on COM 7 HD and COM8 HD muxes anyway, so they were not there to disappear.
So without checking and covering every single channel, it looks from a quick dig around like the channels on the following muxes have gone:
BBC B (e.g. the HD channels 101-105)
ARQ A, ARQ B, and most of SDN (with one or two exceptions such as Quest on ch 12) - these being channels like Dave, Drama, ITV2, Yesterday, ITV4+1, ITVBe+1, radio channels 711-718 (KISS, Smooth Radio)
Retuned and back up to 131 (one missing).
Brimar - my perception was HD channels prior to doing this check, but it is clearly much wider and your experience may be linked.
I wouldn't know. I'm not that tech savvy, but maybe someone will know.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the posts and bringing this problem to our attention. I am very sorry that some of you are finding that all your HD channels are being deleted, I can fully appreciate just how frustrating this must be.
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that we are investigating the root cause of this problem. Investigations are ongoing and we are working with our partners for a better understanding. At the moment I cannot share any details as it is still early on in the investigation.
As soon as I do have a more substantial update I will update this thread. Thank you in advance for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience this is undoubtedly causing.
Matt
Thank you for this information Matt. It's good to know that BT is, at last, acknowledging that there is a problem with these YouView boxes. But, it is not only the HD channels that have the fault. I myself have the problem, but it is with the FreeView non-HD channels BBC 1 & 2. This has been ongoing for a long time, and affects MANY people. It's about time it was FIXED.
Brimar: that would suggest you're loosing the BBC A mux of channels, so you'll probably find you're loosing radio channels too (e.g. 700-710, and 719-722). Might be worth checking to see what the signal level is like on one of those channels.
All the muxes (or multiplexes to give them their proper title) are is a collection of channels stuffed down one single data stream. This can lead to some odd looking patterns of what you can and can't get - but it all makes sense when you see how the channels are grouped together and this tells you.

All I can say is I have never seen the BBC A mux channels disappear in my case, nor the D3&4. I don't think anyone else has reported it either. Might be a case of waiting to see the outcome and any fix, and just hoping yours is a variation of the same problem.
