you can perform a manual update by navigating to Settings > Device Management > Software Update > Get Update, and pressing OK.
As I said earlier tried that but it didn't work. However, have checked again and just managed to spot the message that the download is 33% complete.
I assume that as I am in a rural area and my broadband is somewhat slow (just done a test on broadband speed checker.co.uk that shows my download speed as 4.75 mb/s) the download is taking it's time but will get there in due course.
Further to yesterday have just checked again at 08:45 and it still shows 33% completed so no further download overnight.
Bit strange as yesterday when I checked I could have sworn that it briefly jumped from 33% to 60% i.e it started at the lower figure but briefly jumped to the higher figure. This happended each time I checked so wasn't sure which figure was right.
Getting a litttle concerned as to why the update is taking so long to install as it is now 2 weeks since it was first made available according to Sean's post. Hope delay isn't due to my box being replaced in November so hence different serial number.
Thought I would check again and lo and behold the update started to download, so was obviously scheduled for tonight.
Completed successfully and software details are:

Component Software: 1.2.6

ISP Configuration 27
Have found the new the HDMI audio and display options so that's fine.
Managed to find the new Search Live TV option after fiddling about and think I know how it works. Would appreciate more informative instructions for future updates.
Not looked as to where to find the new Software Update notification should I need it.
Are there any other new options I should be aware of and if so how do I find them.
Just forced an update check on my Youview STB and I'm downloading as we speak.
Looking forward to the new features 🙂
OK forced update worked tonight.
Ah the update seems to offer dolby surround over HDMI not dolby digital
I was hoping to reduce number of cables by one.
Seems I still need the digital audio link as well as hdmi lead
