Youview box loud fan noise

Last week I received a new 4K BT box, I previously just had the normal recording one. 

It's making a quite a loud noise bit like the fan overworking, is this normal or do i contact support?

Well the DTR2100 doesn’t have a fan whereas the DTR4000 does so it’s understandable that there would be a difference in fan noise.

is the fan on constantly  ?

How is the box positioned , is there plenty of air flow or is it stacked or enclosed ?

i would say majority of the time it is, it's in a flat position with air flow and no stacking

You could perhaps try temporarily standing on some form of sound absorpent material to see if that helps.

A cloth dinner mat is good for this.

(I use them under my surround sound speakers where they are sitting on a glass shelf
