Youview on freesat

Why is youview only on freeview and not freesat, I do not get terrestial TV which means most of the Youview features do not work and the only way I can get BT sport on my TV is via Sky(or linking a computer to my TV which is not practical.

Re: Youview on freesat

I am confused - what do you think YouView is?
It is a Freeview PVR connected to the Internet allowing a backward catch up service. The equivalent is available on Freesat and is called Freetime. Both boxes supplied by Humax.
BT Sport is not available via Freesat.

Re: Youview on freesat

freesat equivalent of youview is freetime i.e backwards compatable guide with catchup however you need to buy a freetime box for about £250 wheras you can obviously get a youview box with a subscription to bt/talktalk also no bt sport on freetime

Re: Youview on freesat

No, they are completely different systems. BT Vision and YouView use only a TV Aerial.
