another Mis Sold - What Now???

This thread is entitled in the first part "Mis Sold".

I am in a similar situation, having been told yesterday that the only speed that the Engineers would guarantee for my line is 33mb; and then to be told 40mb is excellent for your line, with the inference that I should be delighted.

My disgust at this is therefore increased to fury when I look on the "products and services.bt.com/products/manage/" page and find that for my telephone number I am told .......

"It looks like you’ve already got BT Infinity, but you can still upgrade your speed or usage limit"   then followed by this: You currently get   54Mb-73Mb Estimated download speed range

So apparently I continue to be mis sold, on a daily basis?

Re: another Mis Sold - What Now???

Hi Vulgata and welcome,

Can you confirm if you're on Infinity 1 or 2?

Cheers

Re: another Mis Sold - What Now???

It may be inviting to suddenly claim mis-selling is the problem but until things have been looked at then who knows?

Answer whatever you are asked as you may find it is a fault which can be resolved.

Re: another Mis Sold - What Now???

Can you post your IP Profile by running the BT Performance test at www.speedtest.btwholesale.com please? When the first test has finished, press the Further Diagnostics button then after you enter your phone number, your IP Profile should be displayed.

Re: another Mis Sold - What Now???

I'm in the same position, take a look at this http://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2014/5/British-Telecommunications-plc/SHP_ADJ_257752.asp...

I've had a reasonable result using it as a stick to beat BT with, the only good advice I've had from this forum is to use the Openreach modem for a stable connection. Good luck OP.
