have bt youview box worked OK before holiday returned switched on and BBC television on "standard" channels ie. 001;002; show only 0-8% and frequently drop out. also radio channels gone.
All other channel OK ie ITV;C4; C5 and all BT sport etc.
However all HD BBC channels are 100%
If I unplug the ariel from box direct to television I receive normal signals so not thinking it is the areil having moved while away on holiday
Have retuned and also rebooted using factory reset saving recorded programmes and no difference.
Any thoughts please!

Thanks for the link. I did not know the technical difference between a youview box and television receiver.
However what I do not understand is why all HD channels are 95-100% and "standard" BBC channels and radio fluctuate between 0-8%.
I believe the HD and SD channels come from 2 different transmitters, if the aerial is slightly out of line it may not be recieving the SD signal with enough strength to show on the Youview box.
I had an identical issue as you last month and it was resolved when I got someone out to replace the aerial.
Thank you for the information Molly.
This may well be a solution. I still need to explore why after a short holiday we returned to this problem.
I will try to establish if HD is from a different transmitter. I am still concerned that all radio signals from BBC are gone when ariel is plugged into box but there wn
hen played through television.
Are you referring to signal strength or quality with the quoted % figures?
Hi Tim,
Thanks for the question
I quote the following figures from my box/tv screen -today monday 14,58
The affected channels are all BBC.
signal strength first percentage then quality second
bbc 1 (001) 1st: 7 or 8%; 2nd: 0%
bbc2 (002) 1st: 7 or 8%; 2nd: 0%
bbc4 (009) 1st 7 or 8%; 2nd; 0%
bbc news (130) 1st 7 or 8%; 2nd; 0%
these are the HD figures
bbc1 HD (101) 1st; 95%; 2nd; 100%
bbc2 HD (102) 1st; 95%; 2nd; 100%
as stated earlier all other channels are excellent and when i connect ariel direct to tv all BBC channels are excellent strength and quality.
I appreciate any advice you can offer before i think about a new ariel or technical check on it!
It would be best if you got an aerial specialist out to look, because if you arrange for an engineer from BT to come and look it would cost £129.99 if the issue is with the aerial as it's not BT equipment.
That is very steep!
Thanks for the info Molly.
I have located via neighbours a good tv engineer so will definitely avoid a BT callout.
However I am the only one seemingly affected yet there was no serious wind etc during the 4 days I was away. Before the box was around 95% now 7/8% but only bbc - none of the neighbours have experienced this problem
