I have been a BT broadband customer for a couple of months. At first my download speeds were excellent (often 6.5 meg) but over the past couple of weeks they have dropped massively (to about 0.6 - 1.0 meg). There has been no change in the computer or setup of the home hub. On running BT speedtester I get an IP profile of -7150 kbps, with DSL connection rate 8128 kbps downstream and 448 kbps upstream. I can't see anything has changed to cause the sudden drop, and it is not time of day and my speeds were fine at the same times a few weeks ago. Any ideas? I live close to the aberporth exchange in ceredigion and have seen some BT openreach vans around - any chance it might be due to work on the exchange or lines?

you have a great 8mb connection with the correct 7150 profile. can you run btspeedtester and post the results as it sounds like your throughput/download wil be rubbish.
The links you provided (thanks) show no recent problems with the exchange. Speedtester shows my download speed as 630 kbps, which is clearly vastly lower than the line is capable of
