I have been a bt customer for a number of years now. I am truly disgusted in the way I have been treated. I live out in the countryside our internet is appalling you can hardly watch anything but I still pay for it each month . I get constant calls that are as if I have listed my number somewhere and these unsolicited calls come at all times of day. Due to coronavirus I understood they would not be cutting people off at this terrible time . I was late paying my bill I received no emails or notification that I was going to be cut off. My phone is my emergency line to the outside world. But got up checked phone and they had cut my internet and my phone service and now that have also charged me a late fee even tho I played the bill the day it was cut off. I have been late by maybe a day or two before but I feel really upset that they can just do this while people are in lockdown . My new bill is now here in the charges as it's near on 100.00 . I honestly am sick of paying so much for **bleep** internet I need to really need to look elsewhere. I just wanted to make people aware as a number of members informed me that due to lockdown bt would not be cutting people off I have no mobile reception and if there were an emergency I would of been in a lot of trouble.
Why don't you setup a direct debit? that way you can't be late paying
Is this now or last year? I know they went a few months without cutting off during the initial lockdown last year but there's been nothing mentioned at all about this time so whatever members told you weren't entirely correct

No mention about not being disconnected for non-bill payment any more. Its assumed that people have now had time to amend their method of payment.
You posted in May 2020 when you were having problems paying your bill andat that time BT had said that they were not cutting customers off for non payment and would review in June 2020
unfortunately BT reviewed that decision and returned to normal where continued non payment resulted in being cut off
Yes I think it was towards the end of last year I understand people are struggling at this time and would just of Lord a call from a real person to say your bill is overdue and I would of paid it. Just no prior warning. We can't even watch videos in 240 it's less and then cuts out just upset with there service.

and also save £2 per month when paying by Direct Debit.
