broadband and phone wont work at same time

My son unplugged the wires for my broadband and phone, i plugged it all back in but now i have to unplug the conection from the adsl modem to get broadband to work and plug it back in to use the phone. But they wont work at same time. Please say this is fixable and wont need to call an engineer out i live on a island so could take days to get one over to me 😞

Welcome to this user forum.

Its likely you have reconnected things the wrong way.

You need to plug a microfilter into the phone socket first, that should be the only thing plugged in.

Into the microfilter you need to plug the home hub into the small socket, and the phone into the larger one.

Phone goes into the right hand socket as shown above.
