broadband keeps losing connections and intermittent noise on the line

hi can you help my broadband keeps losing connections and i keep getting intermittent noise on my line which gets worse when it rains and my line attenuation keeps changing it was 35 now its any where from 37 to 39 and my house is not moveing about so the is no reson for it to keep changing unless the is a fault my noise margin as all so gone up it was 6db up and 6db down now its 15.9db up and any where from 9db to 12db down when i call customer service all they say is there is noting wrong but to wait 72 hours and it will be fixed and its been like this for over 3 months now i was getting about 9.4mb down befor all this and for what i pay i expect better then this broadband that keeps losing connections and i keeps getting intermittent noise i cannot play live strems a simple google search can take upto 2/3 seconds and sites load slow

If you still have problems when connected to the test socket behind the removable faceplate on the master socket, contact customer services and insist on an engineer visit. Do not be fobbed off with the 72 hours cobblers.

Remove bottom faceplate and connect to the test socket behind using a new filter. Also make a quiet line test with  a corded phone, dial 17070 and select quiet line test. Line should be completely silent. If noisy, report to 151 as a phone fault noisy line, do not mention broadband.

Now that we are heading towards winter then line attenuation will fluctuated the same as the conductivity of copper varies depending on temperature.

 

The temperature differences over 24hrs in winter are markedly different to summer.

it does not matter whether it is winter or summer my line attenuation is all ways changing i have been with bt 3 year now and for the first 2  1/2 Years it was rock solid at 35db for all that time and it never changed and i no this because i like to check the routers helpdesk every day or every other day

Have you tried the quiet line test and connected the router to the test socket? You need to do that to ensure the fault is not in your internal wiring.

i am going to get a corded phone tomorrow to try it and a new filter if i can get one as i never got any with my router when it was sent
