bt busniess hub with fax

we having problem with our fax machine on all in one printer (kodak esp 9)

 

we had called bt to test the lines alot of times and no problems

 

but when we tried to send a fax message and kept having the message on the lcd screen " unable to connect, no dail tone" everytime....

 

does the fliter kept making this problem or it need the fax line connect in the bt busniess hub router???

I'd strip it back to basics and start with just a phone (no hub or filter) see if you get dial tone and can make a call. Swap the phone for the fax and try the fax. If that fails hit the fax manual.

If phone and fax work straight in the socket add a filter and try going via the filter, if that works add the hub and try via the hub.

well we found out the bt business hub that discconect when sending the fax message...
is the routor need to replace???

my friend still waiting to fix this problem as he have to unplug the router to send fax messages...
the fax still can get faxes but cant send anything with the router plug in the phone line...

Hi Chris

 

A few things to try, after you confirm working with a phone.

 

Set baud rate to no greater than 14.4KB/s.

Disable v.34

Disable error correction.

Disable JPEG compression.

Adjust transmission level.

Update fax firmware

Also you can go into the router 192.168.1.254 on main page select the broadband voice link on the right hand side, click on the lines tab and then change the bandwidth settings to fax mode this may help

 

The other thing is not all fax machines are compatible.

i finally fix this problem by changing the phone socket  to open reach than the normal one!!

 

now we can send faxes!!

 

the case is solved by myself!!
