can i only use the modem

can i only use the modem but how can i do it with only the modem without the bt home hub is it possible?

You can plug it into a windows PC and use the pppoe dialler.

Control Panel, Network and Sharing center, set up a new connection, connect to the internet, Broadband PPPoE.

Note that bypassing the router will remove the NAT firewall so the PC will be unprotected on the internet.

Any [one PC only] connection can be used direct from the OR modem,by direct PPPoE [as already stated],but do not forget to tighten up your windows firewall settings,as your hardware NAT is now gone.

My draytek 2750n [even though it`s router is combined] can just use the modem [PPPoE] part by using a PPPoE passthrough option.
