Re: can someone help with wireless settings

You are suggesting that you are on Infinty 1. Your up profile is showing you as being on Infinity 2. If you are paying for Infinity 2, as I said, you are wasting your money.  The maximum you could get on your line, assuming it was a perfect Range A line would be 39Mbps.

Indeed, paying for Infinity 2 and back when it started it was faster.

I shall either drop to Infinity 1 or ADSL

Is the general reduction in speed a result of crosstalk on the wiring between the cabinet and other Infinity users?

That is one reason but it could also be down to general degradation of your line. BT have trialled and are meant to be rolling out Vectoring which should help the crosstalk issue but obviously won't help if your line quality is poor.

Re: can someone help with wireless settings

BT re-assessed all its line speeds to give the Range A & B estimates. That along with what I have already said about lines and crosstalk will have lowered estimated speeds.

You need to leave your Homehub on 24/7 and it will eventually update the firmware if it is needed but in your case the hub is already on the latest firmware.

Are you connecting the Homehub through a white Openreach modem and if so why?

The Homehub 5 has an integrated modem which does away with the Openreach modem. Did you self install the HH5 or did an engineer install it. How come you have an Openreach modem?

Can you connect the HH5 on its own to the phone socket and after it has settled can you post the stats from 1-12 by logging onto the homehub management pages then troubleshooting > helpdesk. http://bthomehub.home/

See link how to install HH5.
