Hi All
I currently have 12 months left on my Fibre broadband contract. It costs me £50.63 per month. My BT TV package is due for renewal but it means I will be tied into another 24 month contract for broadband.
I feel like I am being massively overcharged for the broadband I receive, and want to cancel. If i was a new customer I would be paying nearly half the price.
Roughly how much would my cancellation fee be?
Regards

Welcome to this user forum.
If you do not renew your TV, it continues on a rolling 30 day contract, so it will not affect your broadband contract.
Your cost includes line rental, something to bear in mind.
If you still have 12 months to go, then its likely to cost a lot of money to cancel, more than you would ever save by moving, and you risk losing your fast connection if the cabinet is full, as it would be given to another customer.
If you wait until there is only three months left, and then ring 0800 800 030, I think you should be offered a much better deal.
I am not sure about TV packages, as I do not use BT TV, but others on here may be able to help.
From the bits that I have read, once you renew your TV package, you may lose some channels. If you do not renew, I would expect things to stay the same, but you would lose any discount.

When you say my TV would continue on a 30 day rolling contract, would that be on the same package I am currenly on ( they don't offer this one anymore?)
Yes it would, although old legacy packs are no longer sold and can't be discounted, they are not being discontinued, you would pay the standard monthly cost for the package you are on now.
