Re: computer generated calls

BT have a "Choose to refuse" service which allows you to block up to 10 numbers.

They normally offer the service for a months free trial. There are other options like anonymous call rejection.

Re: computer generated calls

But will this block calls from friends with mobiles which appear as "number not recognised" or number not left when checking un answered calls om 1571? and anonymous call rejection filters out official calls. or so I understand.

Re: computer generated calls

Choose to refuse will only block numbers that you select, all others will be allowed to ring your phone.

If you get a call from a withheld number, and you do not want to hear from them again, you can add it to your list, even though you cannot see the number.

This will stop the calls if they come from the same number. This usually works for most people, and quite often the months trial is sufficient to stop unwanted calls.

Anonymous call rejection only blocks calls that are "withheld", however if friends prefix your number with 1470, their number will be released, and they will get through.

I pay for both of these services, just for peace and quiet.

None of these services will block International or "number not available" calls.
