e mail problems with BT Mail

I am unable to log in easily to BT Mail and just keep getting "This page cant be displayed"

Asked to check TLS 1 1.1 and 1.2 but these were already checked. Have also tried to Fix but the report says problem with BT my PC is OK.

When I have managed to get in to e-mail and then try logging off the PC hangs and then comes back with the message that "This page cannot be displayed"

Any suggestions please.

You need to give more info> What PC make and model, what operating system, what browser?

 

Who asked you to check TLS ?

 

Do you have have any addons on your browser such as BT Tool bar. Do you have BT Desktop Help installed?

 

Where/how are you logging on. ie is it the BT Home page?

 

What happens if you use this link https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform

 

Have you tried a different browser such as Firefox?

 

Is the problem only when you try to log on or do other pages fail to display?

Thanks for quick reply and assistance.

 

I have been out and just returned and tried the e-mail again and it is now working fine so it must have been a BT problem.

 

For your information using a Dell Inspiron 620 PC with Windows 7 Home Premium, Internet Explorer 11, Infinity broadband.

 

Tried logging on using desktop icon for BT, also going in through My BT and also tried your link. All failed and if I waited long enough the message was returned "This page cannot be displayed"  Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to https://signin1.bt.com again. If this error persists, contact your site administrator. There was an option to change settings.

The message received when using desktop icon to btmail.bt.com which is the one I have always used returned "This page cannot be displayed"

  • Make sure the web address https://signin1.bt.com is correct.
  • Look for the page with your search engine.
  • Refresh the page in a few minutes.

with an option to Fix connection problems.

 

BT Desktop help is installed.

Other internet pages are working normally.

Have not tried another browser yet.

 

I did not make any changes but hopefully the problem will not return.

Hopefully it was just a glitch with BT. As an aside I would recommend that you uninstall BT Desktop Help. It is not needed for anything on our computer or to allow you to connect to the Internet. Windows can manage everything that BTDesktop Help can do and do it better.
